Implementation Methodology
FDI follows a ten-pillar framework that moves an intervention from community diagnosis through delivery to independent local ownership.
The Framework
Each pillar is a reusable content card with space for a short example, relevant photograph and a link to the programme or evidence that demonstrates the approach.
Pillar 01
We begin by listening. FDI consults participants, community representatives, schools, youth groups and other stakeholders to understand the problem, the people affected and the resources already available. This helps us avoid designing programmes around assumptions.
Pillar 02
We involve relevant stakeholders in shaping objectives, activities, delivery methods and indicators. Participation improves relevance and encourages the people closest to the issue to take ownership of the solution.
Pillar 03
Our learning activities focus on usable knowledge and practical application. Sessions combine clear instruction with discussion, exercises, case studies, group work, assignments and action plans.
Pillar 04
Training is stronger when participants can continue learning from experienced people. FDI connects participants with mentors who can offer guidance, honest feedback, professional exposure and encouragement after the formal programme.
Pillar 05
We identify the institutions and community actors whose involvement can improve access, credibility, technical quality or sustainability. Engagement is based on clear expectations, respectful communication and shared responsibility.
Pillar 06
FDI recruits volunteers for defined roles and equips them to contribute effectively. Volunteers receive orientation, reporting lines and appropriate supervision so that goodwill becomes organised impact.
Pillar 07
We work with organisations whose expertise, reach or resources complement our own. Partnerships may provide facilitators, funding, equipment, venues, media support, research, referrals or access to participants.
Pillar 08
We consider gender, age, disability, location, language, safety and economic barriers when planning activities. Inclusion should be reflected in recruitment, venue selection, materials, facilitation and follow-up.
Pillar 09
Every programme should define what success means before implementation begins. FDI uses attendance records, baseline information, feedback, assessments, follow-up and outcome tracking to understand what changed and why.
Pillar 10
We design with continuity in mind. This may involve training local facilitators, building alumni networks, transferring tools, strengthening local institutions and developing partnerships that can sustain the work beyond one funding cycle.
Apply the Method
We partner with institutions and community groups to adapt this methodology to local needs and local ownership.
