Who We Are

A nonprofit building capability, not dependency.

Fasttrack Development Initiative is a nonprofit organisation based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. We work to strengthen the ability of young people and communities to respond to the challenges around them through leadership development, education, entrepreneurship, digital inclusion, civic participation and community-based action.

Our work is rooted in the belief that meaningful development becomes possible when people receive the knowledge, practical tools, relationships and opportunities they need to make better decisions and contribute to their communities. We combine training, mentorship, partnerships and local engagement to turn ideas into measurable action.

Our Mission

To equip young people and underserved communities with leadership, education, enterprise and digital skills, while building partnerships that turn local ideas into measurable and sustainable development.

We pursue this mission through practical programmes, community engagement, mentorship, volunteer mobilisation and collaboration with institutions that share our commitment to inclusion, responsibility and long-term social progress.

What We Do

Key Focus Areas

Our focus areas are interconnected. Leadership, education, enterprise, inclusion and participation reinforce one another rather than operating as separate activities.

Focus Area 01

Leadership Development

We help young people understand themselves, make responsible choices, communicate effectively and lead with character. Our leadership programmes connect personal growth with community responsibility, ethical decision-making and practical problem-solving.

Focus Area 02

Education and Digital Inclusion

We support learning opportunities that prepare young people for a changing world. This includes capacity building, digital literacy, access to learning tools and initiatives designed to reduce the educational gap affecting underserved schools and communities.

Focus Area 03

Enterprise and Economic Empowerment

We equip aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage business owners with practical business knowledge, financial discipline, digital marketing skills and access to mentors, so participants can create livelihoods and strengthen local enterprises.

Focus Area 04

Civic Engagement and Peacebuilding

We create spaces where young people and community stakeholders can discuss public issues, understand their civic responsibilities and develop peaceful responses to local challenges. We promote dialogue, participation, inclusion and accountable leadership.

Focus Area 05

Gender and Community Inclusion

We recognise that girls, women and other underserved groups often face additional barriers to education, technology, economic opportunity and public participation. Our programmes widen access, protect dignity and ensure that more voices contribute to development.

Message from the Executive Director

At Fasttrack Development Initiative, we believe that the future of our communities will be shaped by the quality of choices people make today and the character they bring to leadership. Our responsibility is to create opportunities for young people to learn, grow, participate and turn their ideas into meaningful action.

We invite communities, volunteers, professionals, institutions and development partners to work with us. Together, we can build practical programmes that equip people, strengthen trust and create progress that can be seen and measured.

Partnership Invitation

Partner With FDI

Sustainable development requires more than one organisation working alone. FDI welcomes partnerships with companies, development agencies, government institutions, schools, professional bodies, media organisations and community groups that share our interest in leadership, learning and inclusive progress.

Partners can support programme delivery through funding, technical expertise, mentorship, venues, equipment, media visibility, research and access to communities. Every partnership should be built around clear roles, agreed outcomes and responsible reporting.

Volunteer Invitation

Your experience can become someone else’s opportunity.

FDI welcomes volunteers who can facilitate sessions, mentor young people, support events, create content, assist with research or contribute professional skills to community projects.

Volunteering with FDI is a structured commitment. Volunteers receive role descriptions, orientation and clear reporting lines so that their time and contribution produce useful results for both the organisation and the communities involved.
