Our Story

Established in 2011 to close a practical gap.

Fasttrack Development Initiative was established in 2011 from a desire to respond to the leadership, learning and development gaps affecting young people and communities.

The organisation began with the understanding that sustainable change is not created by one event alone, but by giving people the confidence, knowledge, relationships and opportunities to act.

Over time, FDI’s experience reinforced the need for stronger organisational systems, clearer programmes and more consistent measurement. The organisation therefore began a strategic renewal process to strengthen its governance, operations, communication, programme design and ability to work with partners.

Today, FDI is building on its community roots with a renewed commitment to credible delivery and measurable impact. Our direction is to create programmes that can begin in Port Harcourt and Rivers State, respond to Niger Delta realities and eventually be adapted for other communities across Nigeria.

Institutional Anchor

Our Core Philosophy

The principles that governed our earliest work and still govern it now.

Agility

When global crises disrupted traditional learning, FDI pivoted rather than pausing outreach, redesigning delivery so that communities were not left behind.

Groundedness

Deep, authentic local roots across 2011 to the present day. We do not parachute into external templates; our solutions germinate within the communities we serve.

Uncompromising Ethics

Open public accounting, zero tolerance for fiduciary compromise, and strict compliance with global NGO transparency codes.

Stewardship

We design every curriculum, partnership and delivery intervention with longitudinal, generational self-reliance across the Niger Delta in view.
